Super Sister!

One boy with two older sisters. Phil is six years younger. My sister is smack in the middle. Phil has always maintained that he was raised by three women. I'm sure he means one woman and two-in-training. I just don't remember him suffering under six guiding hands of three females. As I recall, he had it much better than we did. Kim and I had to share a room. He got to choose his, private, bedroom colors: Orange and Blue. I also remember early aircraft models he put together and hung from his ceiling in dogfight mode. Some of them had cotton ball smoke floating out of their, Um, back sides, forever suspended in pre-crash mode. Like still photography showing the inevitable demise of the losers, he made you write the story's conclusion in your mind. In my mind, everyone walked away from the crashes.

No, I don't remember his tough childhood the way he does. I remember a quiet, unassuming, peaceful young man with a quirky sense of humor, who grew up to be a successful Civil Engineer, married a beautiful woman, and raised two equally beautiful children. He made his mother extremely proud. Dad passed away when Phil was in high school but Dad would have been just as proud. Although Mom denied it, my sister and I knew Phil was Mom's favorite. She was always there for us and loved us equally, but Phil was her shining star. And that was Okay.

No, I don't remember his "trials" the way he does but I do remember this... One sister was there when the little snake, Phil had caught and placed in a box, escaped. This would give the term bedroom "hideaway" new meaning forever. This made my little brother nervous. Who do you think he went to in his hour of need? She shall remain nameless but her initials are ME! I managed to find, capture, and then release the snake into the front yard. The neighbor came out, saw the snake, and promptly cut off its head with a shovel. I had rescued a baby rattler, pre-rattle but just as venomous.

News Flash: "Oldest sister saves baby brother from rattler!" Yes, my brother is here today because his super sister delivered him from the sinister, poisonous Mr. Sssssss! You are welcome, Phil.

And one more thing. You were, and are, worth it!
